The 19 Crimes "The Banished - Dark Red" from South Australia offers notes of grape jam, blackberries, plums and baking spices in its wonderfully multi-layered bouquet, along with harmonious aromas of dark chocolate, oak and vanilla. The wines of the19 Crimes line cast a spell over every connoisseur: they recall people convicted of crimes in Britain who were exiled to Australia beginning in the late 18th century. In 1864, he was arrested, found guilty, sentenced to ten years in prison and deported to Australia. The man depicted on the label was a member of the Fenian brotherhood from Skibbereen in Ireland who played a major role in the Fenian movement right from the beginning.
