So for me I'd always want my games to be something you can put down when you need to. One thing I absolutely hate: "Oh hey yeah, your next save point is an hour away, goodluck not losing all that progress, I'm a 'hard' game ooooh!" My response to this actually relates to another Extra Credits Video, 'humane design/exit points'. So mobile user might have hard time navigating but that worth a shot until someone release a lugin to customize all HUD decently. Mobile plateform is interesting but the rpg maker user interface is not designed for mobile.

While you should never directly change the core of your game just to make them have a potential portable experience, it's just something to keep in mind. While good games by themselves, they weren't episodic enough to allow for a better portable experience.

In my opinion, the Final Fantasy ports to the portable systems didn't exactly make for a good portable experience as they require you to be rooted typically. Yet, I've seen some RPG's fail in the aspect of becoming portable. The same with the portable Harvest Moon games and Rune Factory. Atelier Annie had good starting and stopping points on the go. Portable games, in a sense, are successful because they have good positions to pick up the game in and put down the game in.

That said, have you guys considered the possibility of your games being played on portable? And in your opinion, what makes up a portable game experience? I know RPG's have a harder time being played on portable as they tend to be games that aren't made to be played in short spurts, but some games, like Disgaea, manage to break this aspect by keeping the fun in incremental segments in the form of battles. In the event you would release your game on Steam, assuming it meets the specs of the Steam Portable machine (which by default, RPG Maker MV games do), it will be accessible on portable, too. While I'm not wanting to make much in terms of predictions, there is something brought up in the video that caught my attention: and that is the advent of the Steam Portable machine.
